statement of mission

The main research interest of this program is to study the theories of linguistics,the representatives of such theories and their works,with a view to apply such theories into teaching languages in China.(本硕士点主要研究国外语言学及应用语言学理论、流派、代表人物、代表作及其对中国语言教学等的启示.) And the purpose of of teaching of this program is to familiarize our students to theories of linguistics,the representatives of such theories and their works,and to develop in them the ability to apply such theories in independnet research.(2004年，本硕士点首次招收“外国语言学及应用语言学”硕士研究 生，着重培养学生对国外语言学及应用语言学理论、流派、代表人物、代表作的理解能力及其运用它们开展独立研究的能力.)
