KARST COLLAPSES HAPPENED IN ZHEMU

In november 11, 1997, a terrible accident of karst collapses happened in zhemu, a small town in south of Guilin, Guangxi province. About 60 karst collapse pits formed within the influence area with only 0.2 km² and the losses was more than 2 million yuan (rmb). According to the report given by geologists, it is believed the hazard triggered by an explosion with only 12.8kg of dynamite, and the next rain season will be a high risk period for new karst collapse pit formed.(see figure1-1 and Zm1-2-1 ,     Zm1-2-2,  Zm1-2-3,   Zm1-2-4)
